Learn To Dive
We are glad you chose to start your scuba diving adventure with us! Review the below information to learn more about our Open Water Diver course (logistics, dates, & pricing).
Please email us before reserving a spot if the student is 10-11 years old at the time of training.
How to Register
1. Complete the registration form below. The student must have an email unique to them for their diving account.
2. Submit your class fee - this can be paid via credit card with an emailed invoice or in person at the shop (you will select one of these options on the registration form).
Next steps
You will receive an email from the dive agency you selected regarding access to your eLearning kit. See either “PADI Paperwork” OR “SSI Paperwork”.
PADI Paperwork
You will receive an email from PADI.com (setup your account and password)
Add your address and photo into your account
We will send your required paperwork PDF (if 10 or 11 years old- additional forms are required)
Schedule your required Open Water class orientation session at the store to prepare for your pool sessions (must be completed 5 days prior to your first pool session)
SSI Paperwork
You will receive an email from diveSSI.com (setup your account and password)
Go to App Store: download the MySSI App (login using your email and password); add your photo and address in your account (send us an email once completed - we will send your required paperwork PDF) - (if 10 or 11 years old- additional forms are required)
Begin your training in the App: go to Courses (bottom); then select Open Water (complete the 6 Sections and quizzes)
Schedule your required Open Water class orientation session at the store to prepare for your pool sessions (must be completed 5 days prior to your first pool session)
NOTE FOR ALL: Sign and return the PDF forms asap (email: team@scubacharlotte.com or print and bring to the store)
Orientation
After completing Step 1 (eLearning), all students are required to attend orientation. At orientation you will:
Meet our staff
Bring all required signed paperwork (including medical)
Take your written in person exam (in addition to the eLearning quizzes/exams)
Get fitted for your required personal gear/verify gear
Orientation must be completed 5 days before your first confined water session (pool).
Additional Information
Spots are reserved by submitting BOTH the registration form and payment on a first come first serve basis (you MUST complete a separate submission for Step 3 training dives).
Cancellation Policy: Any cancellations must be submitted in email no later than 7 days before the class session (you may select a course at a later date). A $100 cancellation fee will be applied if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the course for any reason.
Requirements: Minimum age is 10 (for ages 10-11 call for details); Medical form must be satisfactorily completed; Swim requirements: 200-yard swim and tread/float for 10 minutes
Personal Equipment: Each student needs their own kit (mask, snorkel, fins/booties); Scuba Charlotte offers "special student packages/kits" (mask, snorkel, fins - the required gear) custom fit for each student's size and type of diving. All with our exclusive price & fit guarantee. All gear must be verified as appropriate scuba gear by a staff member before attending training.
